Dear Colleagues
Welcome on behalf of SEPLA to the new school year. I realise that it is already the middle of week 3 and the holidays seem like a distant memory for most of us. I would like to provide you with a brief update prior to being able to provide you with more significant information at the end of the week.
This Friday the 15th of February is the first management committee meeting for 2019. At this meeting we propose to discuss our plans for a professional development/network meeting schedule for 2019. We also plan to discuss directions for our organisations for the new school year, including many of the suggestions that were raised during our network meeting in term 4 of last year. If you wish to have any issues raised at the upcoming meeting please don’t hesitate to contact myself (peter.skinner@det.nsw.edu.au), Matthew (matthew.johnson@det.nsw.edu.au), or any of the management committee members prior to 9am on Friday.
After this meeting I will be able to provide you with the dates for our sessions during the year, as I am sure you would like to book these in your calendars ahead of time. One I can already mention is the 2019 SEPLA Conference at Rosehill on the 22/23rd of July (the beginning of Term 3). The conference is in high demand already this year so book in as soon as it is released for registrations.
I will also be able to provide you with membership forms for 2019 following this meeting. I would like to encourage everyone to become members again in 2019 and to promote the work of SEPLA in your professional networks. SEPLA as an organisation prides itself on building capacity, advocating and sharing resources amongst its members and colleagues. The greater our membership the more ability we have to achieve these goals and the more resources and expertise we have to share.
I wish you all an enjoyable, rewarding and inspired 2019 and look forward to working with you throughout the year.
